Ashley
Hailing from Virginia, Ashley Barton joined Team England North October 2024. She works primarily with Roundhay Evangelical Church in Leeds while also exploring other ways God might wish to use her during her two-year term.

What is your ministry focus?
I will be working with Roundhay Evangelical Church in the further development of their children and youth ministries.
​
How did God lead you to Leeds?
When I started the application process, I did not know where the Lord was sending me. While attending an interview conference one of the interviewers suggested that I look back on the places I had been, the people I had meet, and the ministries that I had been a part of over the years. This opened my eyes to the fact that the Lord was asking me to join the team in England. While Leeds was not an original option, the Lord paved the way and led me straight to Leeds.​
How has support in the U. S. made a difference in your ministry?
Knowing that there are people back in the states praying and supporting me makes a big difference. Their support and prayers encourage me each day to continue sharing God's love with the people in Leeds.

It also helps organize and put together events such as women's crafting nights and youth games nights.
​
How can we pray for your ministry?
Join me in prayer as my local partner and I have been invited back into several local elementary schools this year. Each month we have the opportunity to go into four local schools and tell a Bible story to the entire school. Many of these students come from Muslim or Sikh backgrounds and tend to tune out when we mention the Bible. Pray that some of them are listening and soaking in what is being taught.

How can we pray for you personally?
Pray for me as I explore three different discipleship opportunities over the next several months. ​

In one word, describe how you feel about your current stage of ministry.
“Excited.” I’m excited to see how the Lord continues to work in the ministry here in the UK.
