Kris and Aubree Kuriger are joining Team England North! With their four girls—Emma (11), Mady (8), Riley (6), and Eleanor (4)—the Kuriger's will move from South Carolina to Manchester, one of England’s biggest cities. They are set to arrive in early June.

What is your ministry focus?

Our job description is “church planter.” Specifically, we’re partnering with one church and then help that church plant more churches. We don’t yet know which one.

How did God lead you to Manchester?

How has support in the U. S. made a difference in your ministry?

I’m pastor on a staff already. The church that I’m with currently has been so supportive. The minute I told the senior pastor, his comment was, “I can’t wait to take our church through this process.” To see a pastor step down and do this, even from the get-go he was super excited to come behind us and support us. He’s been the best. They’re just super excited, super supportive, they care for my kids, care for my wife.

How can we pray for your ministry?

We want to be useful. I want to be somebody who comes into England humble but able to see fruit, to see God work. You don’t get into this thing if you don’t really want to see God do something.

Unity, that’s another one—whatever church I’m working with, that there will be unity with the lead pastor. Coming as an American, I’ve heard that can sometimes be a thing you have to navigate. So I just pray that there will be a really big sense of unity around why we’re there and that we’ll be really excited about the pastor’s vision.

How can we pray for you personally?

We need our girls to have friends. We need our girls to be able to feel like we didn’t rip them from everything they know for no reason. I also want them to be able to see the mission. I want them to be able to see that God’s really big and that He’s a lot of places and that they grow up with that vision.

Pray for school. Where the girls go to school every day is probably a big part of their life. Pray that they land in a school that’s a good fit. They’re homeschooled now, but we’re probably going to put them into the British school system. That’s going to be a big transition.

Is there a story you’d like our supporters to know?

In one word, describe how you feel about your current stage of ministry.

I would say the word “appointed.” I feel like the Lord has had this on my heart for fifteen years. And I feel like we’re finally here, and He’s appointed us. It’s time. God has sovereignly called us to get there before we even knew England was on the table. So I feel like we’re finally appointed to do what God has called us to do.

I’ve been a pastor for thirteen years, and that’s been totally necessary, but this thing is the thing that we’ve been thinking about for a long time. We’re just excited, joyful, blessed, but I definitely feel like there’s an appointing and an anointing that’s happening with this step. We’re excited.
